Jacob has been teaching trumpet students for almost 10 years and enjoys working with students of all ages from 4th grade through adult. Some of his students have gone on to receive music scholarships at many top music schools. Others have had successful careers in a wide range of other fields.
I encourage parents of my students to discuss their goals with trumpet lessons. Each student has differnet goals in trumpet lessons and I treat each student differently. Some students have specific goals...be first chair, get into wind ensemble, get a music scholarship. Other students want to get over the hump so that the trumpet is fun instead of being a drag or to enjoy an extra-curricular activity other than video games. I encourage parents to touch base with me and with the student often to re-evaluate their goals. If I need to push more or less or progress faster or slower, please let me know. I work with each student at a pace that I feel is best and you know your child better than I do so feedback is always appreciated. The most important thing to me is that the child enjoys lessons. If they have fun at lessons then they stay engaged and learn.
